Age- 29
Married with a gorgeous son
I was a jockey before I lost my right leg bellow the knee in a race fall back in 2003. The hardest part I found to get over was not losing my leg but was for me to accept that I will never race ride again. I loved being a jockey, it was challenging, rewarding and I loved working with horses, it was my life.
But I have accepted it now and I do believe things happen for a reason. I now have a fantastic husband (who I was only dating for 6 weeks prior to the fall) and the most gorgeous son who is a lot of fun and in which I believe he will go on to do wonderful things because if I was still riding I would not have settled down and had kids by now.
I bumped into Gary at my leg clinic and he asked if I like golf. It so happened that my husband had bought me a set in 2005 for Christmas; I played two rounds and then fell pregnant and have had problems with my leg since. So I really do not know how to play golf well at all but its all about getting out there and having fun, which I will.
