I was born in Newcastle in 1951. I became an amputee in 1974 after a motor cycle accident in 1971. I moved to Queensland in 1993 and began playing golf socially in 1995.
I started my own plumbing maintenance and bathroom renovation business during 1999, after deciding that life was to short for working 5 days a week.
I started to play golf seriously in 2001 by playing a few times per week.
I reduced my handicap from 27 to 13 then thought that playing off thirteen was not good for stress levels so have now eased to 16.
I played in the 2nd Australian Amputee Open in 2004, my first Amputee Tournament, and have played all subsequent tournament. I also played NSW opens 2005, 2006 and all Queensland opens.
During 2008 I was elected as President of Queensland Amputee Golf Association.
I am also an active member of the Rotary Club of Jindalee in Brisbane and have just returned from 2 weeks voluntary work in Kiunga, which is in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea.
I am really looking forward to competing in the South Australian Amputee Golf Open.
