'Never look down on someone, unless you're helping them up.'

'SAAGA concentrates on abilities not disabilities.'

Jay Dohnt

I'm a South Australian Paralympic Swimmer and Bronze medallist in the 400m Freestyle in Beijing 2008.

I am 18 years of age and a bi-lateral below knee amputee I am also missing four fingers on my right hand. I acquired my disabilities due to Meningococcal disease sustained when I was 13.

I've recently taken up Golf through the Amputee Golf Clinics under the extremely insightful and watchful eye of Gary Hart. I'm now looking to pursue Golf as a sport I can enjoy outside of the pool and would recommend any amputee to come enjoy Golf through the First Swing Clinics.

I'm looking forward to the 2008 SA Amputee Open later in November and will be out on the course in the next few weeks in preparation.

As for Swimming, I am looking forward to the London 2012 Paralympics and finding a balance between the pool and open water swimming. I aim to complete The Rottnest Island Challenge swim (approx. 20km) as well as a successful crossing of the English Channel (England to France).
